It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Shannon Bradley as Keck Medicine of USC’s inaugural Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Shannon most recently served as AVP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at HCA Healthcare in Houston, where she focused on developing the strategy, implementation and integration of DEI to drive measurable positive change for their patients, colleagues, suppliers, boards, and community engagement and impact. As a result of her efforts, she was recently awarded 2022 Outstanding Head of Diversity by the Houston Business Journal. In her current role, she plans to continue her focus on measurable impact through a comprehensive and strategic DEI approach.
As AVP of DEI she helped increase board inclusion for Asian and Black members by 45% and 24%, respectively, increased colleague network participation tenfold, and she initiated a health-equity collaboration that resulted in a clinical C-section reduction of nearly 15% for populations with disparate outcomes. Prior to stepping into her role as AVP of DEI, she led the DSRIP program at the regional and organizational level, working to improve patient outcomes for the Medicaid, low-income and uninsured patient populations.
Shannon graduated from Baylor University with an MBA with an emphasis on Healthcare Administration and received her BS in Business Management from Emporia State University. She is actively involved in community engagement through volunteer efforts and Board membership, and she looks forward to building strong community partnerships in the Los Angeles area. When Shannon isn’t volunteering or working, she enjoys traveling with her family, singing, and exploring new food adventures. Please join me in welcoming Shannon to her new position.
