The Leadership

Dr. Karrie Kingsley is USC’s Associate Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer for Faculty and Staff Success and Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy within the Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. Dr. Kingsley oversees key programs and initiatives that support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) best practices and community resilience. They also provide consultations to senior leaders and managers related to DEIB strategy development or issue management.

Karrie Kingsley

Dr. Maria Romero-Morales is USC’s Assistant Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer for Student Engagement, Community, and Communications and adjunct Faculty for the Sol Price School of Public Policy. With over 20 years of experience in education leadership and public policy, she brings a passion for equity and inclusivity to her role. Dr. Romero-Morales is a distinguished Triple-USC Trojan with a long-standing commitment to serving underrepresented populations. She leads initiatives to promote access and opportunity for all students. Dr. Romero-Morales oversees the Diverse Graduate and Professional School Conference and the university-wide Heritage Month Celebration Planning.

Assistant Chief Diversity Officer for Communication, Community, and Student Engagement

With a track record of success in leading DEI efforts, she collaborates with USC leadership to ensure culturally intelligent, inclusive care and an equitable workforce. Recognized for her achievements, she holds degrees from Emporia State University and Baylor University, and has been honored as an Outstanding Diversity Champion. Shannon is dedicated to community service, addressing literacy, healthcare, and food insecurity needs.
