Development of Events to Promote Diversity and Inclusivity

Open Forums on Campus Climate

Provost Quick called for a series of open forums to allow all constituencies to share their views on improving USC’s campus climate. Each session addressed a specific topic and shared a similar structure that included: 1) preparation of relevant documents and information ahead of time; 2) faculty and student moderation; 3) opening statements by invited panelists, followed by an open period of comments and questions; and 4) a summation of action points for sustained and focused follow-up.

The forums included senior-level administrators, students, faculty, and other community members. For additional information about these forums, please contact Tara McPherson, Associate Professor, School of Cinematic Arts, at tmcphers@usc.edu, or George Sanchez, Vice Dean for Diversity and Strategic Initiatives, Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, at georges@usc.edu.
