Development of Events to Promote Diversity and Inclusivity

Open Forums on Campus Climate

Provost Quick called for a series of open forums to allow all constituencies to share their views on improving USC’s campus climate. Each session addressed a specific topic and shared a similar structure that included: 1) preparation of relevant documents and information ahead of time; 2) faculty and student moderation; 3) opening statements by invited panelists, followed by an open period of comments and questions; and 4) a summation of action points for sustained and focused follow-up.

The forums included senior-level administrators, students, faculty, and other community members. For additional information about these forums, please contact Tara McPherson, Associate Professor, School of Cinematic Arts, at, or George Sanchez, Vice Dean for Diversity and Strategic Initiatives, Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, at
